Will you be ringing in the New Year in one of these AMA Conference Center cities – Atlanta, New York City, Washington, DC, or San Francisco? Then you’ll enjoy this guide to some of the most spectacular New Year’s celebrations around!
One of this city’s most popular New Year’s events is the famous ‘Peach Drop.’ This family-friendly attraction is held at Underground Atlanta, a popular ‘city beneath the streets’ shopping and event district located downtown. An evening of live music and performances will culminate in welcoming the new year when an 800-pound peach drops from a tower to a backdrop of fireworks. This celebration is the New Year’s Eve celebration in the Southeast. Rumor has it that the ‘Peach’ drop will take place from a new home next year – so don’t miss the opportunity to be part of the celebration at this historic location.
Underground Atlanta is located at 50 Upper Alabama Street, Atlanta, Georgia 30303. Click here for more information on the ‘Peach Drop 2017.’
New York City
When you think about New Years in NYC you picture the ‘larger than life’ celebration at Times Square, right? News stations broadcast the famous ‘Ball Drop’ event worldwide, and it’s estimated that over a million people participate in person. The Waterford crystal ball descends 141 feet (43 m) in 60 seconds in the center of Times Square…just feet right outside the building of the AMA New York Conference Center.
The Times Square New Year’s Eve ball descends from a flagpole at the top of One Times Square. It can best be seen along Broadway, from 43rd Street to 50th Street, and along Seventh Avenue, as far north as 59th Street. Click here for more information.

Cosmopolitan San Francisco spares no expense to provide residents and visitors with the best New Year’s celebrations around. While numerous venues are offering their own festivities, you can simply venture outside from may viewpoints in the city to experience the spectacular annual fireworks show held near the SF Bay Bridge. The display starts at one minute before the new year and continues on for the next hour.
Anywhere along the waterfront offers great views of the fireworks show, although the Bay Bridge and opposite Ferry Plaza offer the best views. These locations fill up quickly though, so be sure to arrive early. For more information click here.
