Three Must-Have Apps For Meeting Planners

meeting-profs-technology-artworkEach and every day there are mobile applications that pop onto the ‘app’ scene focused on the needs of meeting and event planners. With so many app choices offering a variety of tasks it can get quite over-whelming. But don’t let app selection stress you out…we’re here to help with the top three ‘must-have’ recommendations from our AMA Executive Conference Center team. We think you’ll find them as essential as we do and download!

Use the Doodle app to easily poll your team or meeting attendees to reveal the best day and time for your meeting to take place. We love that Doodle allows for multiple meeting date and time suggestions – and that invited participants can easily select their preferences. This resource is free and so easy to use. A big bonus is that participants you send the Doodle ‘meeting inquiry’ to don’t even need the app or an account to participate!

Use the Slack app to keep all your team’s communication organized and in one place. This team-messaging tool helps reduce the back and forth of email, allows file sharing and promotes conversations within the application (open and private) that can easily be arranged in a searchable way. Meeting planners will love how Slack will streamline pre and post meeting communications while boosting efficiency!

While the Pandora app is not specific to the meeting or events industry, it’s a resource that’s changed the way that many planners and their guests listen to music. By selecting a favorite artist or genre of music, a planner can use Pandora to create a personalized station of music specific to their meeting needs. Music playing has been found to improve visual and verbal skills, reduce anxiety and make people happier. Go ahead, improve the quality of your meetings simply by adding Pandora as ambient music to those moments ‘in between’ speaker and task activities!
